Beginner Aerial Hammock this very beginner aerial hammock class you will get used to using the hammock as a prop to access deeper muscles.  Build foundational strength in your arms and core for the more challenging aerial moves.  An inversion at the end of the practice is optional.  Level 1

Shoulder stand and headstand are considered the king and queen of yoga asanas because of their ability to heal and bring the body into harmony and balance. Unfortunately, nobody likes falling out of a scorpion, headstand or inversion right in the middle of yoga class. Besides bruising your ego, you can hurt yourself!

This class will include drills to straighten the spine, strengthen the muscles needed for inversions so the body over time can soar into any inversion unsupported by the hammock!
Let me teach you how easy a headstand in the middle of the room really is, when you have taken the time to learn the do’s and don’ts without falling using the hammock.
For your safety and care of our equipment you must adhere to the following guidelines, or you may not be admitted to hammock classes:
• Wear a t-shirt that covers your underarms.
• No ZIPPERS, BUTTONS OR JEWELRY. No exceptions. No sharp objects on the body of any kind, including nails, or body piercings.
* You must be 12 or older to participate in hammock classes, exceptions are made for well behaved tweens.

The extra support of a silk hammock allow the body to completely soften, surrender and invert effortlessly. Like classical restorative yoga, this class balances the elements of a slow-paced asana flow. A levitated yoga practice reaches muscle groups that cannot be accessed on the mat, providing a deeper dimension into exploring each pose while going deeper into stretches and twists. Practicing while levitated also calms the nervous system, and boosts the immune system.
Students will enjoy a tranquil practice, grounding their energy while off of the ground. You’ll explore how to remain in a meditative mindset while in motion. Students will finish their practice with a magical savasana experience, floating peacefully inside of a silk cocoon.

Using the aerial hammock as a prop, we will work on strength and flexibility, introduce familiar and new poses in different ways with the silks. Get out your sense of adventure, build core strength and grip strength, and make Friday FunDay with aerial. This class will work on core strength, and introduce flips and tricks with the hammock.

What are some of the amazing benefits of inverting?

Registration Policy for Hammock classes:

  • 1st preference to hammock classes will be given to current members who have hammock passes, or memberships/Passes  that include hammock classes.  Sign up online or download our app to avoid confusion and guarantee your spot.
  • Drop in’s (either online or walk in’s) will be admitted after all above clients have hammocks.
