My intentions

Everything about Anahata was produced to bring healing.  When I created the studio, it was not about following the latest trends of barn wood, or being slick and modern, but rather a “feeling” of connectedness.  The word “Anahata” is Sanskrit, and means your heart Chakra, or a wheel of energy in the center of your heart.  We have 7 major chakras, and the heart is the bridge between the earth manifestations and spiritual wellbeing.  Some traits of an open or balanced heart chakra are:

  • Love for oneself and others
  • Relating, relationships
  • Compassion, empathy
  • Forgiveness, acceptance
  • Transformation, change
  • Ability to grieve and reach peace
  • Compassionate discernment
  • Center of awareness, integration of insights

Physically, if the energy of the heart is blocked it can lead to respiratory ailments, such as lung infections or bronchitis, or circulatory and heart-related issues, including high or low blood pressure that can lead to heart disease.  When the heart chakra is in healthy alignment you will feel surrounded by love, compassion, and joy and connected to the world around you.  Many people who have come to the studio “feel” this.  The color of the heart chakra is primarily green, thus we have green walls.  The symbol of the heart is the biggest mandala at the studio, just to the right of the CD player.  The singing bowl in the big studio brings harmony and love to relationships.  The physical practice of yoga brings about change, transformation.  According to researchers plants in hospitals speed recovery rates, patients requested less pain medication, experienced less fatigue and anxiety, and were released from the hospital sooner.  We have plants ALL over the studio from the minute you enter the vestibule, to everyplace in the studio, and outside the windows.

My intention for you in this space is to feel surrounded by love, compassion,  joy and to connect to the world around you, as you open your body up to transformation  that the physical aspect of yoga brings about.  I can think of no greater gift for our lives than these traits.

See for yourself how different and special Anahata is!

Changing lives, one at a time,  see you on the mat,

Paula
