Know thyself

Know thyself

One of the gifts of a regular yoga practice is that you become more aware of the things you do well, and the things you do not so well.  This becomes apparent when we think we are flexible, and our practice shows us the many ways we are not.  The same is true of strength.  Yoga practice challenges us to be flexible and strong, to be able to hold a pose with steadiness, and to fly up in handstand if we choose. Yoga systematically breaks down who we “thought” we were, and shows us  “who we really are”.  Knowing who you are, and what makes you tick are valuable assets in this thing called life.

As the yoga poses work on your body, you naturally lean towards changes in your life that bring more happiness and satisfaction.  No longer can you tolerate spending time with friends who do not share your interests.  You become less satisfied with your current job, and find one that harnesses your abilities and talents.  This brings on a inner joy and contentment that becomes infectious to others, like a moth drawn to a flame.

The same is true of a company.  Staying stagnant and not changing slowly kills our creativity.  A couple of weeks ago, I asked  you to pick a logo that  best describes Anahata Yoga Center.  Overwhelming you responded with this logo……

We are changing.  Begin to look for our new logo, and welcome new faces in the studio.  Look for new events, and exciting opportunities for your personal growth.  Connect with like minded people who are on the same path.  We are much more than a gym, much more than bricks and mortar.

Anahata is your heart center.  Your place of love, passion, sharing.  As always, you make this place.  Thank you for sharing your input.

See you on the mat,

Paula
